Syyskuu – September

This month it got a bit colder, the bright green nature started fading away and Autumn colours started showing by the end of the month.

I moved host families in September to my final family. I have two host sisters who still live at home and three host brothers that have moved out of the house. I also have two little host dogs called Rona and Miru.

Some highlights of this month were camping with my host sister, going to Oulu and visiting my Australian friend in her town.

My host sister Ella and I had been planning to camp outside before it got too cold so one weekend we took a whole heap of blankets and food and walked down to this shelter on the river near our house. It was a really fun night, we cooked pizza’s on the fire for iltapala and listened to music.

Another really great weekend was when I went to Oulu with Ella. We stayed at my host cousins house on the lake and did baking, fishing and played with my little host cousin. The next day we went into the city and Ella had a meeting to go to so I met some exchange students from Mexico and Germany.

At the end of the month I took the train to a small town called Rantasalmi where my friend from Australia lives. I stayed with her and her host family for a few days and even went to school with her. This town is a lot smaller than Nivala and the school was tiny. It was really fun to meet all her friends and see what it’s like at another Finnish school. We watched a lot of movies and ate a lot of food.

Kiitos 🙂
